No time to retouch makeup or hair style, I headed out to observe Palm Sunday, enjoy Phoebus Anniversary, and the movies.; a lot for just one day that it did not end there because I had 4 beagles at home waiting for me, content to edit, and words to write. Now at my 50s, I am committed to embrace a decade of realignment. I invite you to travel with me through this journey of new perspective and priorities. If someone finds me hilarious, that is new to me. It must come with age. Today was one of those unstoppable days, the beginning of my first Holy Week of my new decade.
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and commemorates Jesus Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalem. As He rode into the city on a donkey, crowds gathered, laying palm branches and cloaks in His path, shouting “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” This moment fulfilled ancient prophecy and signified the arrival of the Messiah—not as a conquering king, but as a humble Savior bringing peace. Palm Sunday reminds believers of Christ’s mission of love, sacrifice, and redemption, setting the stage for the events of the Passion and the hope of the Resurrection.

The festivities kicked off on Friday, April 11, with official proclamations, a time capsule ceremony, and live music by Anthony Rosano & the Conqueroos, creating a lively block party atmosphere on East Mellen Street.

The day also included a traditional Maypole dance, reviving a cherished local tradition and bringing the community together in a festive finale.
This milestone event not only celebrated Phoebus's storied past but also highlighted its ongoing commitment to community spirit and cultural heritage.
