Virginia, once known for poll taxes and voting restrictions, has transformed into one of the nation’s most accessible states for early voting. With reforms in 2020, polls now open 45 days before Election Day and no-excuse absentee voting is available, giving every registered citizen of the United States of America in Virginia the freedom to cast their ballot early.
Early voting helps working families, seniors, and those with health challenges participate fully, reduces Election Day stress, and strengthens fairness in democracy.
Here in Hampton Roads, our local gems are the voters themselves. Each early vote cast is a powerful reminder that democracy is strongest when every citizen has equal access and time to make their voice heard.

FUN FACT: if you will be 18 years old by the general election on November 4, 2025, you are eligible to vote early! § 24.2-403 of the Code of Virginia.

Be a gem. Vote early. Encourage your neighbors to do the same. Together, we shine brighter when every voice counts.
