The “Commonsense Not Nonsense” bus tour rolled into Hampton Roads on Saturday, October 25, 2025, bringing a wave of energy and purpose to the Chesapeake Conference Center. The venue, a familiar site for large civic and political gatherings, served as the backdrop for what supporters described as a rally of hope, connection, and commitment to a better Virginia.
As the event unfolded, three prominent figures stood at the center of the stage, each bringing their own story of service, conviction and forward-looking vision.
Jason Miyares, The People’s Protector
Jason Miyares, the Attorney General of Virginia, was introduced as “the people’s protector.” His journey from the son of an immigrant mother who fled Cuba, to the Commonwealth’s top law-enforcement official, struck a chord with many in the audience. Through his office’s push to tackle violent crime, opioids and corporate misconduct, he positioned himself as someone committed to standing with ordinary Virginians in safeguarding their communities and the American Dream.

Supporters lauded his background as a broadcaster and communicator, someone who speaks plainly about what matters to everyday people. Although still building name recognition statewide, his message centered on forging unity, clarity of purpose, and representing Virginians of all walks of life.

Winsome Earle-Sears, A Fighter for Virginia’s Future
Winsome Earle‑Sears, currently Lieutenant Governor and the GOP nominee for governor, was framed as a fighter for a better future. Her personal story—immigrating to the United States as a child from Jamaica, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, then moving into business and public service—resonated with many in the room. Her presence on the tour signaled a vision: one in which Virginia embraces bold leadership, rises above partisanship, and creates opportunity for all its residents.
