Yorktown, Virginia—often called the cradle of U.S. civilization—marked Independence Day 2025 with a vibrant blend of patriotism, tradition, and community spirit. The day began with the town’s beloved Fourth of July Parade at 9:00 AM, as Main and Water Streets came alive with the sound of marching bands, historic reenactors, veterans, and local organizations proudly honoring America’s birth.
Situated where the decisive battle of the Revolutionary War was won, Yorktown’s celebration carries a deeper meaning. Visitors walked the very streets where American independence was secured in 1781, adding a powerful sense of history to the day’s events.
Here is a glimpse to this year's 4th of July Parade in Yorktown. Footage from Jeannie Belgrave's video archives.
